Royal Norfolk Show

Challenge

  • Each year Norfolk County Council showcases its services at the Royal Norfolk Show. Thousands of visitors have the chance to see exactly what they do and how they do it. NCC wanted a revitalised and exciting new platform which allowed them to link up with the BBC who broadcast live from the display area.

Solution

  • The floor space required a large temporary structure, so we installed a 35mt x 15mt marquee with specialist tunnel entrances and finished with a solid floor and carpet.
  • We supplied each stand with a dedicated graphic back drop installed into an anodized metal frame work, with additional graphics around the entrances and external walls.
  • We installed a large sound proofed studio for the BBC which was open to public viewing on three sides to show a fully operational broadcast station. This backed onto a presentation stage for performers, celebrity interviews and audience participation activities and was finished to high production standards.

Results

  • The Norfolk County Council display received the ‘Best in Show” Award. They had been runner up for the previous three years so to finally win was a great achievement.
  • The exhibition area was spacious and allowed the County Council to interact with members of the public in a professional and friendly way.
  • The BBC studio gave visitors a real insight into the daily operations of a live broadcast centre and attracted huge crowds who were entertained on stage by celebrities such as Jake Humphries, Ruper Grint and Louis De Bernier. Strictly Come Dancing made an appearance with Ian Waite and Camilla Dallerup providing lessons to would-be ballroom dancers.
