Challenge
- Every year Cardiff celebrates its countries top women and their contributions to business and Society with a black tie gala dinner for over 1000 guests, coupled with a fantastic awards show – winners celebrate in true style, however, a reduced budget was a consideration on this occasion.
- A full technical production service, including live cameras and live entertainment were required despite only having 6 hours to complete the build before rehearsals.
- We had to vacate the venue just 3 hours after the event finished.
Solution
- Every second counted and so planning had to be exceptionally precise.
- Within 2 weeks we compiled video footage of 15 categories, each with 6 entrants from across Wales. There were production rehearsals for 3 cameras, a 30’ jib cam relayed on a 15mt wide HD projection screen, presenters and technical crew that all came together within a very tight timeframe.
- Live entertainment had to be on stage and sound-checked within 1 hour. Lighting was rigged and programmed with 5 independent trusses, 45 moving lights, smoke and pyrotechnics.
Results
- The results were fantastic! The event looked superb and everyone was genuinely wowed by the production and how smoothly everything ran.
- Putting on a good show is always about good planning and getting the right people in the right place. This event was a perfect example of our experience, hard work and effort paying off to make something special happen, which was really appreciated by all involved.
